I. Health and safety policy.

1. Statement of general policy:

This is the statement of general policy and arrangements for Stars & Merit. The company is committed to the following:

  • Provide a safe place of work
  • Provide safe systems of work
  • Provide training, instruction and supervision
  • Provide and maintain safe tools and equipment
  • Assess the risks to anyone who might be affected by carrying out work activities.
  • Ensure materials and substances are safely stored, handled and transported
  • Prevent Accidents at sites.

 

2. Responsibilities : 

  • Sushil Rohella has overall and final responsibility for health and safety.
  • Nafees Chauhan has day-to-day responsibility for ensuring this policy is put into practice.
  • Supervisors and managers must provide adequate supervision to ensure the safe systems of work are being followed.
  • Employees have a responsibility to take care of the health and safety of themselves and those around them, to follow safe systems of work and report any concerns to supervisors and managers.

 

3. Training : 

  • All staff and subcontractors will be given a health and safety induction and provided with appropriate training, including manual handling, Usage of tools. Awareness of electrical work and working at height.
  • Supervisors and managers are responsible for identifying training needs.
  • Nafees is responsible for keeping a record of all training.

 

4. Carrying out risk assessments:

A written risk assessment has to be carried out by the supervisor for all work activity, prior to it starting. Hazards will be identified and control measures implemented to eliminate risk, or reduce to an acceptable level and the risk assessments has to be provided to operatives.

5. First aid:

Adequate first aid provisions will be available at all sites. All first aid incidents will be recorded. Availability of the following is must.

  • Hand Sanitizers.
  • Masks.
  • Temperatures sensors.
  • Pain killers.
  • Anti-Biotic tabs.
  • Crocins.
  • Pain Killer tablets.
  • Any other that’s must as per site requirement.

 

6. Welfare & Sanitation facilities:

Site Supervisors will ensure there are adequate welfare facilities and sanitations facilities including those for COVID-19 as per WHO / Clients guidelines on all sites. Few important are mentioned below.

  • Availability of clean and adequate drinking water.
  •  Availability of enough and hygienic working space,
  • All staff must wear masks.
  • Temperature monitoring of all the workers, supervisor.
  • Maintain Social Distancing while working at site.
  • Use of Alcohol based Hand Sanitizers.
  • Use of space sanitizers as approved for COVID-19.

 

7. Accident reporting : 

All employees will report accidents to their supervisor or manager.  Kaushal Mishra is responsible for investigating accidents to prevent recurrence and ensure safe work practices are being carried out.

All accidents will be recorded in the accident book which is kept by Nafees Chauhan and is located corporate office @ Ghitorni, New Delhi.

8. Emergency procedures : 

Kaushal Mishra is responsible for carrying out fire risk assessments. Escape routes will be well signed and kept clear at all times. Evacuation plans will be tested periodically and updated as necessary.

Adequate Fire Extinguishers to be kept at site depending upon the nature of work.

II. Quality Policy : 

Stars & Merit  is a well-respected Interiors company that is involved in a full range of Retail, Industrial, commercial and residential Interiors work in India.  It is the policy of Stars & Merit to provide a service that exceeds our client’s expectations. III. Environment Policy : 

Stars & Merit shall endeavor to

  1. Maintain positive legal compliance to environmental regulations and conform to the requirements of Stars & Merit's Sustainability Framework.
  2. Progressively develop, implement and maintain an internationally accepted environmental management system in our operations and new projects.
  3. Take initiatives towards efficient use of natural resources and energy; reduction and prevention of pollution; and promoting waste avoidance and recycling measures in line with internationally disseminated technologies and practices
  4. Enhance environmental awareness through participation and consultation with employees and contractors by training and effective channels of communication.
  5. Engage with internal and external stakeholders and wider communities to broaden our understanding of environmental priorities, their links to global issues and initiate actions on key environmental challenges.
  6. Influence our contractors and suppliers to adopt the Stars & Merit environmental policies, principles and practices and encourage appropriate environmental management across the supply and value chain.
  7. Continually improve environmental performance of current and future products, services and infrastructure of the Stars & Merit.
  8. Monitor, measure, and report the progress, performance of environmental conservation and management initiatives.
